Providing Virtual Therapy in CA & Across D.C., Maryland, & Virginia
Get to Know Me
I believe wholeheartedly in the transformative impact of connection, support, and acceptance. I've seen firsthand the growth and empowerment that can come from finally seeing oneself or a loved one as a whole, lovable, and worthy individual. I've also seen clearly the pain and disconnection that can be born from the fears and hurt that life and trauma can instill. With collaboration and determination, I believe we can all grow into the people we wish to be, and that we can regain control of our lives.

I knew early on that I wanted to be a psychologist, to partner with people of all ages as they walk through the challenges that life is sure to bring. My training has taken me to a variety of settings, including community mental health, inpatient psychiatric units, and private practices across the country. Interpersonal trauma has been an emphasis of mine in both clinical work and research, and I'm passionate about helping families and couples reconnect with one another, and individuals reconnect with themselves.

My Approach to Therapy
PARTNERING WITH YOU IN YOUR PROCESS
My approach to therapy is primarily informed by attachment-based and psychodynamic/object-relations theories, which posit that our experiences and relationships influence the way we view (and what we expect from) ourselves, others in our lives, and the world at large. These influences tend to manifest within our relationships and behaviors, and they are likely to show up within our belief systems. In our work together, we can dive into these patterns to uncover the messages you've internalized, identify the experiences that have led to these beliefs, and understand the impact they continue to have on your daily wellbeing. I value using a self-compassionate lens when building greater self-understanding, as our relational and behavioral patterns were often protective and adaptive at the time they were created. It's just that sometimes.. they don't serve us as well as they used to.
You are the expert on your life. I strive to honor your expertise in our work together, to meet you where you are, and to collaborate with you to help you get to where you want to go. My hope is to join with you and empower you to reshape and rework the patterns in your life that may no longer be serving you well.
My training in a variety of therapeutic modalities and treatments allows me to tailor my approach to fit your or your child's current needs, as well as your unique strengths and concerns.
